Posted February 18, 201015 yr Ok I was at the shop today and decided to do my FIRST hands on experience in box building. I took the old face of my box and decided to switch it out to a dual btl box. Of course I messed up a little bit. What I messed up on was the shops saw went out today on me and I decided to use a jigsaw to cut the bottom of the face (major "f" up) . So my face was a little uneven. So I plan on using bondo and resin to fix it. With the face put on the box spray painted black it is hardly noticeable, but tomorrow will test my first challenge. I will also be bracing the mess out of the box. What port should I use? I am thinking 2 or 3 aero (pvc) ports, but what size aero (pvc) ports and how many? Maybe a vent in the middle of the 2 subs, or a slot port in the back, etc. Could you all help me figure this out?
February 18, 201015 yr This post is horrible. Im assuming this is for your 18s.Let me get this straight. You took an old enclosure for one BTL and removed the baffle. Now youve made a new one with cutouts for two BTLs? The dimensions you gave are barely large enough for one 18 with bracing. Now you want to put aero ports in it?It says you have gotten your first hands on experience so are you building this from scratch or not?I cant understand what the hell you are saying.
February 18, 201015 yr Author The box i had for one btl I am now making for 2 BTL's maybe my dimensions wrong, but this box was IMO too big for one BTL and it fit well with 2 BTL's and yes my first real hands on experience is swapping the face of an enclosure that went from 1 btl to 2 btl's.
February 18, 201015 yr I recommend starting from scratch.x2, you got way to much going on and wood is really cheap so starting over wont be a pain in the ass.
February 18, 201015 yr Sounds good. Put up some pics when your finished. Edited February 18, 201015 yr by Sir-Lancelot

This will tell us if it is appropriately sized or not.As long as the enclosure you are using is solid, then switching the baffle is...ok. Hopefully its not the one in the video, where the rubber mounting trim is slapping against the baffle. If it is, Id start over from scratch.
February 18, 201015 yr Imo I would start from scratch and do the math to make sure your putting those BTL's in the proper sized enclosure.
