Posted February 18, 201015 yr My wife drives a 2003 Honda Accord V6 sedan. She has a 300 watts RMS at 2 ohm on the 5 channel amp and wants a sub. I was on DIYMA and someone suggested I look into the 12" SSA DCON. I read the specs and did some searching. The price fit our budget but my question is...how will this sound with 300 watts at 2 ohm in a sealed for example 1.0 to 1.20 cubic ft sealed box? I read that people prefer the ported box but I am looking for something sealed but I am open for suggestions. I was looking into one of these:Single 12" Sealed MDF Enclosure (12SQTC) 12" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Installation & Accessories Car Audio/Video Installation & Accessories Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic ElectronixorSonic Sub Box: 1SL12-1.0 (BLACK CARPET) (1sl1210-black) 12" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Installation & Accessories Car Audio/Video Installation & Accessories Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic ElectronixSpecs on the amp:5-channel amplifier50 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms75 watts RMS x 4 + 300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms150 watts RMS x 2 + 200 watts RMS x 1 bridged at 4 ohmsCEA-2006 compliantvariable high- and low-pass filters (32-320 Hz, 12dB per octave)bass boost: 0-12 dBfrequency response: 10-75000 Hz (front and rear); 15-320 Hz (subwoofer)Non-stop Thermal Protection ciruitryClass-D amplifier designdifferential balanced speaker-and preamp-level inputs4-gauge power and ground leads and a 80-amp fuse recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifierfuse rating: 40A x 27-1/16"W x 1-3/4"H x 14-3/16"D Edited February 18, 201015 yr by sirsaechao
February 18, 201015 yr Welcome .... The DCON is a great woofer and a great choice for your application. Looking at the 2nd link that box would be a great choice when going sealed.Good luck

February 18, 201015 yr It would sound good on 300w sealed.I would get the bigger box. You can always add to the inside to take up volume if you wanted too.Thats cheap as hell for that box. 3/4 MDF too. Welcome BTW.

February 18, 201015 yr Author Welcome, I just responded to your email with a ported option too. Thanks for the reply. I am leaning towards the sealed for better SQ.
