Alright so im getting ready to start my first project on my car and i had a few questions before i ordered everything.

1. on the Big 3 is it okay to use my alternator case as an engine ground for the chassis to engine ground run?

2 Im planning on getting an amp for my front stage and an amp for the subs. Im confused on how i would run my 1/0g wire from the battery to both of those amps. do i need one or two runs from the battery?

If this is your first try, do it right. Find a proper grounding location.

You can use distribution blocks from one run of wires to split the wires to the separate amps.

He hit it spot on. You'll want to ground to your chassis somewhere. As far as the amp, you'll need a distribution block.

You'll go 1 wire from your battery, a fuse no more than 18" from the battery, the distroblock in your trunk, and that will have 2 power wires you can run out of it. Run a wire to each amp AND fuse those wires.

hmm..im having trouble finding the engine to chassis wire though. Do i absolutely need to find that wire or can i connect someplace else on the engine?

Also, when i connect my head unit, do i need to connect it to both amps or just the front stage amp?

Just find a bolt that is attached to the engine that can be removed without messing things up and send the wire from there to the chassis.

try checking a chiltons or something? if still cant find the stock one find a solid bolt that goes directly on your block somewhere and go directly to the frame. sand down both areas and make sure they are really tight so they dont get loose. oh yeah, 1/0 is recommended :)

yeah with that HU you should be able to run a set of 4-channel RCA's to your speaker amp and a 2-channel RCA set to your sub amp

okay so when i fuse those wires does it matter where on the wire? should they be closer to the distribution block or the amps?

Main thing in the big 3 is to add, not replace unless it's easily accessible. I just add and leave the factory grounds as is.

If you are downgrading in size of wire from the d block to the amp then you should fuse as close to the d block as possible.

If using the same size wire after the d block then I wouldnt worry about fusing it. Unless your amp doesnt have on board fusing.

I know sometimes it can be a pain in the ass but you really do need to ground everything proper.. whats the point in doing it if its not done right?

You can always just pick a spot.. get a flathead.. scrap the HELL outa the paint.. drill a hole.. get a bolt.. then BOOM! made your own ground :)

as long as u have a fuse by your battery you should be fine

and that block will work great
