Posted February 25, 201015 yr I found a good priced amp for the LI 12 I'm getting soon and was hoping to get some feed back on if it is a good buy or not. Phoenix Gold RSd 600.1 (RSd600.1) (rsd6001) Mono Subwoofer Amps Car Amplifiers Car Audio Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix The link is what I was looking at. So if I were to get that amp and get a DVC 4 ohm LI would I wire it like http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg <That? Any help and feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks,Jeremy
February 25, 201015 yr How about the amp? Any good? Dont want sub under or over powered. That amp wont over power your sub at all (may harm it if you clip the signal by making the amp go further than its limits), since there is no such thing as underpowering a sub I doubt it will do that. I dont know anything about the amp and havent dealt with it. What is your budget on an amp and what voice coil did you get your sub in?
February 25, 201015 yr The RSd amp internals are stout by most accounts I've read. They are BIG, though, so be prepared. If they're built like my RSd sub (they should be ), then you'll be pleased by it for the price. You can't really over- or under-power a sub, within reason. Careful with the gain and volume knobs, and you'll be fine
February 25, 201015 yr Author Havent order sub yet was waiting to see what kind of amp to get etc. My budget will be about 300 dollars or so. Little more if the amp is really good. Thanks for the help.Jeremy
February 26, 201015 yr Author So I am just going to get the Sundown Audio 1200 watt amp and wire it to 2 ohm. It will put out 600 rms. Sound good?EDIT: Right now I am running 8 gauge from the battery to the amp. I should upgrade to 4 correct? Just wondering. Edited February 26, 201015 yr by PhishHead

February 26, 201015 yr for the same price you can get a sae1000d from db-r. this a refurb but comes with a warrenty. db-r is autthorized from sundown to work on their amps. way more amp for the money!!
February 26, 201015 yr Author I just feel that for an extra 70 bucks its worth getting something brand new.
February 26, 201015 yr The biggest wiring size for the SAE-1200D is 1/0AWG I believe, 4 gauge will be adequate in your install unless you plan on upgrading and running at 1 ohm anytime in the future. If you buy the bigger wire now wont have to worry about it later.

February 26, 201015 yr Author Within the next week or so I will be ordering everything. Cant wait to get it all installed and hear it for the first time. It's going to be a big upgrade from my last system.
February 26, 201015 yr So did you decide to go ahead and get the 1/0 guage wire? As already mentioned, it would be much more benificial in the long run if you wire down to 1ohm and fully utilize the capabilites in power output from that amp. Don't forget to order enough wire whatever size you decide for the big3 as well

Don't forget to order enough wire whatever size you decide for the big3 as well I would like to but have no idea where to run it in my car. The side pannels I usually run it through is way too small. It was a big hassle getting the 8 gauge I have in there now. I will take pictures and post them tonight so everyone can see where I currently am running it.Thanks,Jeremy
