My 12 " Qs sounded bad since i bought them a few weeks ago (used) so today i figured i would build a new ported box for just 1 instead of having both in a sealed box. This is what i found when i took the woofer out.

Is there plenty of clearance behind it in the box?

Looks like it was dropped. You said you bought it used. . .were they shipped to you? Could have been shipping damage that you did not see until the sub was used causing it to come apart.

I am sure Scott will be fair in getting it fixed for you.

Email them the pic with your contact info. sales @ ficaraudio.com

It was dropped. Sucks that you didn't inspect it upon purchase, sounds like you got ripped off.

I did buy them used but i checked them over pretty good before i installed them. the dude i bought them from took care when shipping and sent them in theoriginal boxes from fi.

I dont know how you could not notice that if it had happened during shipping.

He said he inspected the driver prior to installing.

Could it have been just a hairline crack at the time that maybe you just missed? I'm just saying, there's no way for this to happen without them being dropped.

But it didnt sound like total shit untill yesterday when the thing seized up. before it just wasnt loud as i expected it to be.

The vibrations through the sub from playing will loosen and widen the crack and eventually make things worse and more out of alignment.

True. UPS has it now. well see what they come up with

Is thie even repairable? or worth repairing? ups approved the claim and is sending the Q back to me. is it worth fixing?

Doubt it. . .The cost to ship it back to Fi will more than likely offset the cost of any reusable parts.

Email Nick and ask him if they can reuse any of the old parts to build you a new one, otherwise, if UPS covered it, just buy a new one.
