March 3, 201015 yr Author Fi i've got a BTL 15 that got a hole in it from a drill and i wanted to recone it since that happened, last friday i had enough moeny to order it so I did. it came in this afternoon, and i got started on it when i got home from work tonight i've gotten the moving parts out of the old one and while trying to get the screws out got stuck and that's where i am now do you recommend a special bit to get the screws out? they look like regular phillips heads but when i put a screw driver on 2 of them the heads stripped a bit so I stopped
March 3, 201015 yr 1) Why are you trying to remove the motor?2) The most common screws for motors are 6mm x 13mm, I'm not sure if Fi uses the standard though. Although I imagine they do.

March 3, 201015 yr Author is there a way to loosen the CA glue or once it's got activator sprayed on it is it permanent?

There is no way to loosen CA after activated that I know of.
March 3, 201015 yr Author if that doesn't work what would you suggest? and do I have to use CA glue when I bolt the thing back together or could I just use thread locker? Edited March 3, 201015 yr by hhowell1990
March 3, 201015 yr if that doesn't work what would you suggest? and do I have to use CA glue when I bolt the thing back together or could I just use thread locker?Did the kit not come with CA? Epoxy works well too.
March 3, 201015 yr Author No just the cone basket and dust cap I knew glue wouldn't be included so I bought some 2 part epoxy

March 11, 201015 yr Author Got another question, i got my re-cone put in and together, then i hooked up my amp and the thing shook ripped itself apart, spiders separated from basket, so I went out and bought some CA glue and hardener, talked to the guy at the hobby store and he told me which one was supposed to be the strongest, so I got that one, stripped all the epoxy off and cleaned it up with paint thinner and a file and put a fat bead of CA glue down on the spider and surround, and just wanted to know how long the glue will need to set up before i can hook my sub up to my amp.
March 11, 201015 yr What do the instructions say, usually when it comes to glue or any adhesive I usually wait 24 hours just to be safe.
March 11, 201015 yr 24 hours for CA to harden normally, you need to clamp it everywhere as well. Are you sure you had it lined up? It sounds like it wasn't.
March 11, 201015 yr Author the instructions just say apply glue to one surface and hardener to other and hold for 10 seconds, it can't fully cur that quick can it?
