ok so i have a 76 caprice i need to know what i need to do to properly power 1 of the saz-1500's im gettn

stock alt 63amps brand new

4ga big 3 but upgrading to 1/0 when i get the amp

$50 battery from autozone

im looking for a decently priced big battery

so what will i need to power this thing right

check out the xs power batts on the ssa store. they are on sale i believe.

I definitely wouldnt buy that autozone battery and just get one from XS Power that can go under the hood, it should have enough power to start your car and run your system (email nathan at xs power and see what he recommends). I wouldnt do the Big 3 in 4 gauge and then turn around and do it 1/0 gauge, minus well do it 1/0 gauge now (will save you time and money).

My boss runs a saz1500d in his f150 and he just has an interstate battery under the hood and his dome light or headlights dont dim at all. my silverado dimmed like crazy with the same amp on stock electrical.

I guess it depends on how strong your factory electrical system is. :drink40:

when i get THE sundown im running 1/0 to replace the 4ga

ok now would i be ok with a big batt or xs power up front w/ 1/0 big3 and to the amp. and by ok i mean no/minimal dimming and voltage drop

Nobody can tell you that since electrical systems act different, its hard to guess if your gonna have voltage drop or lights dimming. The best way to tell is install the amp, volt meter to watch voltage, do the Big 3 in 1/0Awg wire. A secondary battery or XS Power battery should be efficient and should due.

Do the Big 3 in 0ga, buy either the D3400 or D2400 and after that i don't see why you would have any trouble with dimming lights, but there is always a chance. You should buy a Stinger Voltmeter and install it so you can keep an eye on it but with a batt rated to handle 2500 watts as a starting batt and your running a 1500 i see no prob.

EDIT: might consider going with a smaller batt if you only have a stock alt.. you should consider buying a high output alt.

that alt. will be fine. just get the biggest bat. you can fit under your hood/you can afford. if you need anymore after that you can try to put your stock on back in stock location then run the big bat. in back. that should do you fine.

X2 on the voltmeter.
