Posted July 23, 200520 yr i was talkin to my dad about doin the big 3 with an HO alt on my car and he said goin from the alt to the engine would be a problem, cuz the stock wire has to go thru some kinda box, maybe circuitbreaker or fusebox? iono.this is gonna usin 1/0 gauge wire. 1st step of my 3rd system overhaul.thanks for your help pple!
July 23, 200520 yr Its probably a fuse box.As stated in the Big 3 thread, you do not need to replace your wiring.Just keep the stock there and run the new
July 23, 200520 yr Admin supa is right, you can just add a new wire, that is what I did with my motor, but my straight 6 is different for your motor, so placement is different, but with the torque of your motor, it should spin a pretty large alt no sweat
