Posted May 9, 201015 yr This is my new thread since there have been some changes. I found the width I needed to do a wall and that was my original want, so that's the route I decided to go.Have been planning this for a lil while now. Being busy with school and what not, it has been a long time coming. I finally started the other day though.Just a heads up: Being in college full time, with a ton of papers coming up soon, this will not be a fast build. Just gonna work on it when I can between class, gf, and other things until its done. What's going in: 4 DP21"s 4 SAZ-3000d's (new heat sinks) Maxx-Link 200+ ft. Tsunami Competition 1/0 (5+ 5- runs back) 9 Deka 9a31's (1 up front, 8 in back) 1 DC Power 290 amp alt (for now) EDIT: Was going to be a 4th order designed by iamamp3pimp, but I found some more width and decided to design myself a flat wall since it's the first idea that I was wanting to do. Other misc. things All in an '03 Expedition XLTBig thanks to Robin for the design, I may still go with a 4th in the future. The designProbably gonna do a couple 2x4's in the port instead of one. These are some of the color schemes I'm thinking about. Will match my dust caps lol. May 9, 201015 yr Im looking for a place to rent...something by the ocean with a breeze, maybe.Ill give you $100 a month to stay in your port! This looks TUFF.
May 9, 201015 yr That's going to be isanely loud .... What kind of electical are you going to be running with it???
May 9, 201015 yr Author Crimping my old 1/0 for redoing my big 3.I love my new crimpers so much that I decided to hack saw a terminal in half to see how it looks (this one was actually not a very good one compared to my new ring terminals and after having some experience). Ended up hitting my thumb and slicing half way up my thumb nail lol...And sorry, the pic's crappy. But it looks like a solid chunk of copper that's fused together. Hydrolic crimpers ftw.Deka up front.
May 9, 201015 yr Author Test fit for the buss bars on the back battery bank. I kinda just wanted to see how they looked back there too. They will be in a box with a cover when finished. Thanks to wgsj_fortvalley/PeachtreeCustomz for the front and back buss bars.
May 9, 201015 yr Author WireFirst two runs back, 8 more to go.I've had my old power wire ran under like that for over a year now with no problems. No drilling through the firewall and stuffing it under carpet ftw.
May 9, 201015 yr Author Some of the old setups the Expedition has seen. This was in for a lil while until we put it in my gf's car.My last setup in my Explorer before I got my Expedition. Sorry about the shittyness, they were taken with a Razor back in the day lol.
May 9, 201015 yr Author Grommet, it's dirty down there.Another hole cut and filed down a lil.Fuse holders will be screwed to the battery rack somewhere, haven't decided exactly where yet.Gotta find a way to coordinate all the wire when it's all in.A good chunk of the first roll used.
May 9, 201015 yr Author Since a couple of people wanted to see my crimpers, here they are.No progress today. After getting home from the track I ended up redoing the inside of one of my bearded dragon enclosures.Hitting it hard again tomorrow after class hopefully.
May 9, 201015 yr Author Just got done drilling all my holes and putting the grommets in.There are just 8 of them here. I'll take pics of them all when I finish vacuuming all the metal shavings out.
May 9, 201015 yr Author Just finished up for today. Got all of the holes drilled and grommets in, and 3 more runs ran. So just 3 more runs to go, I'm running out of places to send the wire down to under the car lol.Almost one spool gone, moving to the next spool.Sending a run down. How it looks up front as of now, quite messy right now lol.
May 9, 201015 yr Author Got all the runs back done today, 10 total.Gonna do a piece of mdf somewhere in here to mount the fuse holders to.
