Posted May 13, 201015 yr I listen to a wide variety of music ranging from house, deep house, electronic, metal, alternative, rap/hip-hop. Vehicle is a 2003 honda civic coupe.. sub in the trunk. Stock electrical. I have a friend with dual Kicker L5s running at 1000 watts total with his factory Durango infinity audio system..I'd like more output and more sound quality than that. The entire car has already been deadened with Edead in the trunk and front doors. I will never be competing in any competitions, but I would like accurate musical reproduction with a bonus of great output. Ideally my budget would be < $1000 for sub/amp/front stage, whether it be 1 sub or 2.. and remember I've already got amplification for the front stage whatever route is taken.Current setupsub/amp - single Elemental Designs 13K on a Nine.2 at 400w crossed at 63hzcomponents/amp - Elemental Designs e3.65 components on a Nine.4 at 65wNew plans..I've been browsing many different subwoofers and amplifiers the last few days but really have no idea where to start.ComponentsED's 9.65 setup on either Nine.4 or Nine.2 amp.. prefer to run them with 100-150wAny other recommendations here are welcome but I'd like to stick to a 6.5" 2-way set and stay passive if possible to keep things simple. If I'm going to greatly improve my sound stage by going with an active setup I would be open to suggestion here. I would love to be able to put an 8" midbass in the front doors but it'd be costly to have an installer modify the doors etc.SubsSSA Dcon-Xcon lineED's 13Av.2FI's BL or Q lineED's 19oAmpsSundown at whatever power necessaryED's Nine.1 for 1200w at 1ohmHave at it guys.. if any more information is needed I'll check back regularly. Moving up to what I'm looking at is going to be a huge improvement anyway
May 17, 201015 yr Well state your budget? But from what you stated now maybe an Fi SSD can meet your needs OR the Fi BL. maybe off of a Hifonics 1200D. Can keep your sub stage just a little under 500.. BTW i don't think the Fi BL will be louder than both of your friends kickers. If you want loud bass it is not going to cost you a little..
