Hey im a newbie and i am lookin into sellin my current system and getting a new one. I am sellin my Pl2-212 system with PA amp. My friend is thinking about buying it but he needs permission from his parents (lol). Anyways i was looking at getting a new system and i am looking for more of an Spl sub(s) that still has alot of Sq to go around. I am looking for a Sub(s) that is no more than 250. Thanks

Adire Audio subwoofers get my vote all day.

knew you were going to say that, but does your vote stay the same with the increased prices? :P

Ok. I think i looked at them earlier before but ill look again. Some other person has just told me that they would get a Resonent Engineering SE 15 over a Rl-p15. What do yall think?

an se over rlp?

no...not even for loudness...IMO

sx louder then the rl-p...probably...

for $250 per sub, the rl-p is flat out going to be hard to beat, unless u can get a used mag, brahma or xxx.

another good sub that is sql, more so towards spl, the memphis m3. or even m3 mojo. they aren't quite as clean as the above mentioned subs, but can hold their own spl wise.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

the RL-p is a step up from the SE for sure,

but the SE is still a great sub with out a doubt, fun daily driver sub

SX10- $260

SX12- $270

SX15- $290

SX18- $320

You are welcome

Even with the increase in price I'll stick with Adire for cheaper SQ drivers. If you want to spend some real money though.. look at the Morel and Dynaudio subs.

SS prices are cheaper and the subs look better.

If i had 2 RL-p 15's i could do a review on them and my old brahmas

Alright. What about the SX over the Rlp? How much do the SXs run?

the SX is much more of an SPL driver,

the RL-p is an SQL driver

  • Admin
Alright thanks. Do you know if there is anywhere i can get the SX cheaper than the Rl-p15 but still have a warranty?

  • Admin
ya whats that?

to get an SX with a warenty you need to buy from RE

  • Admin

power has nothing do do with the sub,

in the right box for both subs, that is hard to say, it is up to the install, but the RL-p starts off with a large cone surface advantage

so in theory the RL-p should be louder, but the SX might get a little louder on the MIC but maybe not to your ear

  • Admin

head to head of the same size, the SX should be louder, its made to be an SPL sub, the RL-p is an SQ sub that can get somewhat loud,

for daily RL-p

for comp SX

Even with the increase in price I'll stick with Adire for cheaper SQ drivers. If you want to spend some real money though.. look at the Morel and Dynaudio subs.

Just my .02. The advice above isn't bad exept the part about morel and Dyn those are both super high quality but they really lack output and they generally need really large boxes. I've played around with the dyn's but not morel's.

IMO you should just throw a bunch of power to a 15" Rl-P and be done with it.

I know you are concerned about how loud it will be but one 12 rlp in my car can get loud enough to make your voice stop working and your ears start ringing just to give you an idea and its sealed at 1.2 off of 600wrms.

my ID max is louder but if you ask which one I want to listen to and I'll always say my SS.

How much power are you going to give the sub?

Those amps put their power out at 1ohm. You wont be able to get a D2 RL-p unless you get a used one. Plus its a lot of power for that sub, same with IDMAX. SX would work well with that power.
