hi, i was just wandering if anyone had any suggestions on what i could do? i used to think i was into sq but over time i think i just like loud. i've had several systems over the years (all installed by me) and i have honestly never been satisfied with any. mids and highs i dont really care about for now, i just want bass so loud i can't stand it. i've seen vids on hair tricks and i think maybe that's what i need. i don't have an spl meter to know what i'm hitting now. mine tops at 130db, i hit that at about half volume. currently i'm running:

2001 hyundai accent

factory tape deck with ipod

iraggi dominator 200a

0ga everywhere

kinetic 1400

memphis mojo 4kw

2- re sx 18d4's

14cf box after all displacement tuned @ 28hz (bassbox pro)

everybody says it's the loudest they've heard, it hurts their ears, bla bla bla... not good enough for me. i will only turn it up for a minute or so because i'm scared of frying them. their only rated @ 1000w ea, i should be putting around 2000w ea. do ya'll think my setup is capable of hair tricks? are systems capable of that ok for daily driving? i just bought 2 used ia dp 21's(can't wait till they get here). what would ya'll suggest for them? i'll tri my best to cram them in my 01 accent. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Sounds like someone has the bassbug... :peepwall:

Well first of all you have to much cone area in your trunk. If you have a wall then your good. But the key to hairtricks is the most cone area and your box being sealed. But what you wan't is spl and your box is tuned to low for that tune closer to 34hz

actually i had to remove my back seat for the box. it's not a wall but it comes all the way up to the back of the front seats. it's pretty much just a big plane square box then i added side panels to make it look better. the subs are on top with 2 ports facing front. it doesn't seem to make a huge difference in bbp from 28hz to 34hz but i will try it i have extra wood and i built the ports to be easly removeable (figured i'd be playin wit em).

what?

oh, i was under the impression that ported was usaully the loudest method. why would a sealed enclosure do better on hair tricks. i listen to rap/r&b (some slowed down/screwed), by tuning it higher would i be losing a lot of my low end bass? if so would my gain in the higher notes be great enough to sacrofice the low end loss? i see it on the graphs but i currently only have one set of ports built right now so i can't hear it.

am i messing up by getting 2-21's should i have gone with some higher powered 15's? i'm willing to do a wall. it will be my first.

thanks

With a sealed wall hairtricks are easier, ported is louder though. Simply put though, if your doing a wall the right way you'll be able to do hairtricks.

Unless your this guy:

I had (2) 12inch subs in a slot ported box and it sounded better then his wall.. he needs to just stop.. like now..
