Posted May 25, 201015 yr Is there any difference between kinetic racing batteries and regular kinectic batteries? I'm looking for a trunk battery for my build and was looking at an HC2000, but I found a better price on the KR2712. Which looks to be the same battery but in a red case. I went to kinectic's site to look up the racing line of batteries. But they aren't listed anymore. Which I'm guessing is why the racing line is cheaper since it looks to be discontinued.
May 25, 201015 yr Local Kinetik dealer has the Red Racing Series in there Demo vehicle and they say no difference except for the color.
May 25, 201015 yr i know the difference in XS Power is the racing batts are lighter and not as strong.
May 25, 201015 yr The pertective cases can be bought seperately. They fit both the audio line and racing.
May 25, 201015 yr This isn't specific to Kinetik, but generally with racing batteries (I use one as my starter battery) a racing battery is lighter weight, sometimes 16 volt, and high CCA. These batteries are designed to save weight in track and strip cars, as well as being designed to give high cold cranking current for high torque starters on high compression race engines (think 11:1 or greater compression ratios on big blocks)They also typically cost a fair amount more than a typical lead acid starter battery.
