Posted August 21, 200520 yr Hey im getting a Toyota Camry to start driving and im wondering which sub or subs yall would recommend. The smallest i want to go is 12. Open to any suggestions.
August 21, 200520 yr all depends on budget allowed, space willing to give up, desired output/sq and power to use.otherwise....funky pups boom like so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
August 21, 200520 yr I got a 98 Camry. RL-p 15 in 2.5 gross w/ ~500 watts on it. Takes up about 1/3 of the trunk. Its a good setup.
August 21, 200520 yr Author Would 1 Rl-p15 be better than 2 audiobahn aw1206ts in a sealed box powered by 2 a8000ts? And will it be better than an RE SX or XXX? I am lookin to spend no more than 250-300 on the sub(s) and about 200 on amp.
August 21, 200520 yr I would never use audiobahn, so I cant comment on their woofers. What are you looking for from the set up?
August 21, 200520 yr Admin I will say the same thing I did in the other thread, or the other one,an RL-p dual 4 with a KX 600.1 is a great inexpensive install
August 22, 200520 yr Author Well im lookin for it to be louder than my friends cuz he always bugs me about it. But i want it to be about 60 spl 40 sq. Im goin to put it in a ported box cuz i know i have the room. I heard that an SX will get louder than a XXX, is that true?
August 22, 200520 yr Admin the SX is an spl sub, the XXX is an SQ sub that can get loud, the XXX will need and should take more power than the SX
August 22, 200520 yr Author What about 2 Alpine Type R 12s in ported box compared to 1 Rl-p15 ported or 1 XXX ported or 2 SE 12s ported? I can get the alpines for the cheapest and with a warranty
August 22, 200520 yr Admin that all depends on set up, but the 2 12's should get louder than a single 15 based on cone surface, there was just a review on an RL-p and Alpine X (set up from the Type R) and the RL-p was louder and had equal if not better SQ,for great sound at a good price, I would vote dual SE's or RL-p's
