Posted May 31, 201015 yr How much of a difference between Stinger and Sound Quests line of pure oxygen free copper power wire. Is it pretty much the same with a different package.
June 1, 201015 yr Wire is wire. You should be more concerned about overall thickness of each gauge based on brand.
June 1, 201015 yr Soundquest is the budget line....The jacket is thicker, not tinned, and their seems to be less strands compared to Stinger Pro and HPM.
June 1, 201015 yr Check out Knukonceptz or welding cables.thats what he should have been going with in the 1st place
June 1, 201015 yr Author We'll I had barely enough room for my 4 guage terminals on my amp, T6002 . So I figured it was thick enough
June 1, 201015 yr Author Why pay for more with stinger brand then?I was just wondering since the power wire was thick maybe I'll use it for Big 3 and save $75
June 1, 201015 yr Just don't waste your money on the Knu aluminum junk..... Best cable marketing gimick in a long time...

So I figured it was thick enoughYou can run 0 ga wire from your batt to a distribution block near your amp(s) and then use 4 ga or whatever fits to the amps. It's much better like that.If you ever need to upgrade your system, you will already have the good wire size. If you use only one amp, you can easily add another one.
June 1, 201015 yr Author being an electrician for five years I'd never use aluminum. I also like to isolate runs (seperate wire for seperate amp and capacitors, which I only use for my highs)
