So I drive a f150 ext cab with a kicker cvx 15" with a 6 cube box tuned at 32hz. Right now it is powered by this POS sony 1200 2 channel. The first time I metered I did a 139.5 door open. I metered yesterday and the best I could do is a 137.2

The testing was done on a term lab.

Now the things that changed:

4 ft shorter power wire than before - better

bigger ground - better

new rcas - better

new bigger remote - I know this wont change anything just thought I'll throw it out there

The only difference than before would be the temperature. It is roughly 35-45 degrees hotter outside now.

Can the ambient temperature effect db??

Also my buddy metered too and he had a decrease also roughly 1.5 lower.

It's normal to see a big change with temperature.

temp will kill DB's for sure.

but also .. stuff you would never think.....

like if the either of the seats are moved.. if you have more junk in the truck.. or tiny bit of voltage diff,

alot of things....

even the diffrent RCa's could cause a change,.

but mostliky in this case.. temp

Does the humidity change in your area. When I'm in hot weather my subs actually hit harder do to softening of the surround. I also see your in Florida and there's increased barametric pressureat sea level and those afternoon storms increase it.

it could be due to the heat, cause when its cold out, my charging system does a much better job of keeping up with the system. ive also noticed a loss from heat, up to .7, not 2 db LOL

I know that:

Amps and alternators like lower temps.

Batteries, subwoofers like it warm. Batteries cause of the stuff inside and the chemical reactions being more intense in warmer environment, and woofers because of the soft part, when it's could they tend to get stiff.

Yes I'm in FL and the humidity has been ridiculous. There was stuff in the truck but not enough and the seats have not moved one bit.

I'll just have to meter on a cold night and see what difference I get.
