August 31, 200520 yr Author email this guy, name is Matthew..[email protected]He sent me an email listing what he had left, and the prices. He has some 5.25" and 6.5" (as in my photo) left, so co-ax's, 8" subs, 10" subs and a few of the amps left too.The 10" subs I got are pulp cone, look like the o.g. solobarics.
August 31, 200520 yr Careful with those mids. One of mine started scrapping. I yanked both the mids today and tossed my Coustic DR's back in with the Next passives and tweets. I disassembled the mid that was scrapping and there was all kinds of chit up in the gap.......So, just be sure to use a very fine grill cloth with them, and keep them away from any metal shavings/etc that could get in the gap prior to installation (from like a workbench or what-have-you).PS: Whenever I get bored enough and get a camera, I plan on having the other mid meet it's demise with a 2hz sine wave @ [up to] 800w RMS
September 1, 200520 yr Author Cool, thanks for the info. I had a set of the ALC or ALS (whatever they were) other style speakers he was selling, and loved them. They were a standard type (magnet in usual spot). These were all he had left, so I figured, what the heck, the last ones sounded good. I will however do the grill cloth deal for the protection.
September 2, 200520 yr Looks like some nice stuff. And the price is really nice, too. I may have to contact that guy and look into getting some stuff. How do those shallow mount NEXT components sound anyway? Good midbass response? Thanks.
September 2, 200520 yr I might have to email him and get some of those componentsWhats the RMS on the 5 1/4's ?
