June 30, 201015 yr I own the Eclipse CD-7200 MKII and love it!It looks like a great head unit but how well does it work with an i pod & cd's?CD sound is great! I hate to say it but I am not much for compressed music, so I never use the IPOD feature.

June 30, 201015 yr Generally, i've found that Alpine headunits handle iPod features quite well, I even most if not all of them charge the iPhone 3gs also, which most don't.
June 30, 201015 yr Author So I think it's between the Alpine & Eclipse. I don't really like the look of the Kenwood one. It's about 50/50 between the Alpine and the Eclipse. Any more opinions. I also saw that the Eclipse had 8 volt preouts!!
June 30, 201015 yr Once you make a decision on which HU, al-eds.com is a good resource. They do internet price matching and free shipping along with being authorized retailers for everything they sale I bought my Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD from them for $425 shipped I would've purchased my Kenwood KDC-X794 from them as well but a local shop price matched them
June 30, 201015 yr I have an Alpine that I like. I've never used any input features, though. Eclipse has always been a strong head unit company.I tend to stay away from Kenwood head units unless it's in their excelon line, or whatever their top model line is nowadays. I bought an average Kenwood for like $120 a couple years ago and it noticeably colored the sound in a bad way. When I bought my Alpine to replace it, I immediately noticed a fuller, richer sound.
