Posted September 15, 200520 yr I'm about to make a new box for my RL-p, due to space restriction and the sexiness of the magnet , i have to mount my sub inverted. Now what would be the ideal cuthole size?? I notice that the rubber surround is fat and leave only slight gap in regard to the screw hole. Also about the polarity, i heard that u need to reverse the wiring, how u do that?? I'm wiring the sub in parralel. Now, would 1.27cuft and 1.38cuft yield different output?? The sub will receive 1000rms clean power and gear for SQ applcation, i like it to get low too. Thanks in advace
September 15, 200520 yr Hole will be the same. You do not need to reverse polarity unless you are running two or more subs, and they aren't both installed the same way.
September 15, 200520 yr Author Ah ic, what would be the correct size then?? i.m guessing around 11inches??
September 15, 200520 yr 11" indeed. The 1.38 cu ft net figure will result in more of a peaked response with respect to the 1.27 cu ft, which you may find you like or you may find it a little too boomy. You can of course try experimenting by throwing something (like a chunk of wood) into your box to bring down the volume a bit
