Posted September 20, 200519 yr Well, built this box this morning. Had nothing to do on my day off, so what that heck Should sound half way decent..I just hope the mcd1000d doesnt kill 'em....but for $18 each...I wont cry if it doeslet me know whachathink..
September 21, 200519 yr Author Well, I like the way it looks and fits, but it just doesnt sound as good as my single rl-p The mcd is alittle much, I can hear the cones bottoming out?? I guess that is what I hear. Tried doing some adjusting, but it will in now way play as loud as the rlp. Sounds good at regualr volumes though, maybe not quite as clear, but I am no pro...I just know what I think sounds good. probably gonna switch back to the rlp though..
September 22, 200519 yr I bet you its because the chamber sizes are different. might help if you port the first one into the second one to share airspace.Or use polyfill to help increase response in the first one. Either way, I bet its because of the two different sizes.

September 22, 200519 yr Author acid's right, in this type of iso, the front chamber only needs to be big enough for the back speaker not to hit the front speakers magnet. I may have actually built it a tad too big. BUT, it does sound decent, just wont get real loud. BUT, then again, these woofers aren't made like the rl-p either...

September 23, 200519 yr Author Im sure the mcd is giving it the powerit needs. These subs are 200w rms, and they are seeing 300w rms with the mcd @ 2ohms. Since I have a total of $50 in this box with the speakers included, I'll probably just donate it to a friend, and go back to my rl-p
