Eyh, Got a great deal on dual DD3515 2ohm dvc subs, so i'm planning on running them at 2 ohms, Been looking at the kicker 2500.1 amp but is there any more good altarnatives out there ?

You could strap two 1000-1500 watt @ 1 ohm amplifiers, like the Sundown SAZ-1000D, etc. What is your price range?

Price range is between 600$ - 800$. would be better with 1 amp, but will go for the best alternative tho =)

hey i would vote for 2-SAZ1000d amps! those things are beasts! and when you strap them the require a 2ohm load and can output more then 2000rms!

i used to have a pair i know how they work and they work very awesome and efficiently! hands down!

Why would u guys recommend 2 amps for him?

There are quite a few of negative points on using 2 amps.

1) 2 amps usually need more current.

2)You need double the amount of wire.

3)You have 2 bass knobs.(or else you need to modify a bass knob.)

There are also a few advantages: Easier to hide the amps.

Just seen that 2 of the SAZ1000 are cheaper.

So i would do those two.

But i would recommend the single amp for him.

You can get a Sundwon SAZ-2000(if they are out already) or a SAZ-2500.

Or even a Rockford Fostgate 2500.1.(but i don't know if that fits in you're price range.)

But the kicker is also a good amp.

3) No. If you strap amps, you only use one amp as the master, and that controls the output of both amps. Thus only one bass knob is needed.

On top of all that, he needs his power at 2ohms. Most of the nice amps normally recommended wouldn't cut it due to them doing power at 1 ohm.

Look out for the new SAX-1200 as well. It's strapable and from the looks of it outperforms the SAZ-1000D.

Thanks for all the replies, got a few options now atleast, will see what i will go with, also the tought of resell value as well, sundown amps in Norway is quite rare, pluss the kicker 2500.1 is really expensive here than US even with the 25% tax of the price when importing it from US. so will see what i go with, still a bit while till i install my system, need ofc the power to run it as well hehe. thinking about 137ah of batteries and 180A or 200A alt should do it and the big 3 which i've already done :>

No. He needs an amp that puts out 2500 watts at 2 ohms not 1 ohm.
