So today i received a nice new 220amp DB electrical alternator since my stocker finally fell victim to the 3500D. After a 5 hour install process which is considered fast on a mazda tribute........ i start the car up and hear a big old grinding noise coming from it. Needless to say i am highly pissed at the situation and they best have a new one at my dorr very quick. Anyone else had experience with them? I herd alot of good things and for the price its not bad at all. Anyways expect a new video with 4 agms and a new alt soon if i ever get it fixed..... should be a good little gain. :fing34:

Thats sucks. I hear they have pretty good CS though. Are you gonna throw those xcon in the mazda?

I have one of their alternators on my tahoe.. i will never buy from them again. Voltage is all over the damn place. You have to be at a steady 1400RPM i think it is?? or your voltage is garbage.. atleast mine is. one of the only corners i cut in my install was buying one of these alternators...now when people say.. "you get what you pay for" i truly understand lol. Should have just got the DC power alt i had my eye on.. even though its double the price i would be very happy with it. You say yours is making a grinding noise? mine never has done that, works like its supposed to, but its one of those alt's that doesnt make its power at idle.

to add, i didnt have to ever return my alt or anything, but i emailed them several times before buying and they were fast with the responses and helpful. Hope they take care of ya.

I just sent the alt I got from them back. It was only running at 12.8v at idle on the battery. 14.6 after 1200 rmps. Battery sits at 12.7 volts with the car off. Told me a slew of things to try, none worked of course. So I sent it back for them to trouble shoot. Told them either refund, or a fully tested unit before it ships back. So now I am waiting for them to get it and decided on what they are going to do.

should have went dc power.

Yup, but some of use don't have $5-600 for an alt though. I went budget because mine is a daily driver and I don't ever compete. Nor do I run it at full tilt all the time. I'm usually at volume 10 when it maxes at 27. I just like having the option to get loud on rare occasions. lol One day I'll get a good alt.

Hope they work everything out for you though Memphis!

jeeze now i'm worried i just bought one for my car from db i hope it works ok and isn't a snafu. :puzzled: is there any good coments about them ?

There cs is awesome i sent it back the other day. They were very helpfull and very suprised to hear that it was grinding. They said it would be fixed or they would send a brand new one. Other than that it was putting out rated when i clamped it and it was charging at 14.5 - 14.7
