just hooked up my eq and i have Engine noise through speaks, Need Help

I just hooked up my equalizer and i taped into the head unit ground and power wire to power the eq and when i start my car i hear the engine noise ? how do i stop this?

    Change the ground for both units if you want to ground them together or find a better way to ground the EQ since once you installed it you got engine noise.
