What is best used to paint the port latex? Or oil based mine is a wall with top port so it's the first thing you see just wanna make it pretty and any color sugestions?

Sanding sealer then use whatever paint you like.

I've used oil based polyurethane on mdf as a base, then oil based paint. It's good to do several coats, sand smooth, then do a final coat so it looks nice/glossy.

I have always used a good sandable primer mentioned above and then a quality spray paint.
