Posted August 25, 201015 yr So i'm sure many of you have heard this question before but i cant seem to find a good answer.. I'm running an Fi bl 15, on a sundown sae 1200d in my scion tc. Big 3 is done. Stock battery is some kind of panasonic. It seems that its not regenerating power quick enough or something. I will start my car in the morning and be at like 13.8 volts, and start it up a few hours later and be at like 13.4 upon startup. I want to be at a consistent higher number than this. Also how can i prevent my voltage from dropping so low when at loud volumes, getting tired of seeing it drop in the mid 11's and having to worry about it. I was going to get an optima yellow top but dont really like some things about it. Been looking into a Kinetek Hc1800 and autozone suggested the Duralast Gold lol. Checked out some h/o alts and found Scion TC & XB 180 Amp high output alternator I know an alt + a good battery is the best option but I can only afford one of these upgrades at the moment. What would be the best option at the time to prevent these voltage drops...1. Kinetik Hc1800 in the front2. Keep Stock battery and put Kinetik in the back3. New Alt and keep stock battery.4. Other ideas?
August 25, 201015 yr keep stock and put another battery in the back. I'd choose deka 9a31. Don't get a yellowtop. There's also powermaster as well if you have the money. i don't think you need a high output alt.
August 25, 201015 yr Another option for Deka http://www.carquest.com/common/downloads/partsBatteriesCQ_NGT.pdf which is a Deka rebadged under the Car Quest name.
