looking for best sq 8" woofer for mid-bass...either want 1 or two woofers...looking for any sugestions...no price range and i have up to 500 watts to work with

The sa-8 seems like a great sub. For a midbass I have no clue

need more detail, no such thing as best anything without an application

midbass IS stereo btw

x2 bro !!! sub transducers and mid drivers are 2 totally different animals ... :fing34:

As for a sub the American Bass XD8 works good. Mid-bass..........I do not know.

What is the rest of your front stage?

Mids and tweeters?

How much power will you have available and what processing will you use for a 3 way active front?

I think Brad mentioned something about the Bravox 8's being a decent candidate, but I have not had a chance to run the specs.

alright i will look into the bravox 8's and i have polk db 5.24 components and i have 500 watts rms available

You could add the SLS 8 on the list, based on the upper frequency limit. It could very well dig deeper than 100hz.

Mounting depth available ? Door mounted (IB), or sealed ?

MORE details.

Yes, the Peerless are very nice. :)

it will be in a sealed box....im taking out center console and building a custom enclosure

not what you would want to do for midbass my friend

You will want two midbass speakers on opposite sides of the vehicle. Ideally located as wide as possible, and ideally they would be equal distances from your head.

Placing them in the middle of the car would be a mistake.

Where you'd want to put them would depend on where you have your polk speakers and what your level of fabrication is. My first effort would be to put them in the kicks, but if you have the mid and tweeter there then the door.. or vice versa.. more info needed to get you a complete answer

You really think you need 8s ? 6.5s not strong enough ?? whats the rest of your system consist of ??
