Posted November 14, 201014 yr I'm going to be firing my subs and port forward and sealing off the trunk from the cabin. So far, I only have my front doors and trunk lid deadened. I only bought 36 sq ft of dynamat extreme (I live 5 minutes from the factory, gotta support them haha), what should I deaden primarily first? Because I'm sealing off from the trunk, do I even need to deaden anything in the trunk?
November 16, 201014 yr If the trunk is sealed off, noise coming through the trunk shouldn't be a problem. If the trunk won't be seeing any sound from the subs, it won't sound bad outside the car. No reason to do anything else to the trunk that I can see.
November 16, 201014 yr Author Yeah for sure I'll deaden the rear deck and I'll make a great attempt to seal it off 100% thanks to expanding foam. So basically you guys don't think I should deaden even the sides of my trunk?
November 16, 201014 yr If it's sealed.. No I'd deaden the rear deck since for most cars it's just flimsy sheet metal.
November 16, 201014 yr I'd recommend bracing the rear deck as well, usually just a piece of wood or two between the sub box and the rear deck will take care of most if not all flex of the rear deck.
November 21, 201014 yr I know this is kind of off topic, but i sound deaded with Second Skin on both sides of my rear deck and am still getting noise from there any suggestions?
