Posted December 1, 201014 yr Can someone tell me what flatwind coil, BP power and QTSThanks in advance! Hope to be buying a 12" soon
December 1, 201014 yr You mean SSD. Options explained there. Take the other link on that page for BP power.High QTS just means they are better for being in sealed enclosures. If you want ported, don't get it.If you want sealed, get it.If you want sealed now but ported later, don't get it.
December 2, 201014 yr Author Thank you very much, I understand the flat coil well. I read both of the other pages but didnt see anything on " BP power." Also Would the 12" in the recommenced sealed box powered by a kenwood KAC-9105D(900w @ 2ohm) would be loud enough for an extended cab truck. Also, the amp says it can push 1 ohm, would it benefit much to get the 1 ohm voice coils?Last thing for 169$ could I get a better amp then that?
December 2, 201014 yr BP Power: This option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack. All of these features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application. You really do not need the bp power option for that sub.
December 2, 201014 yr Author Thank you again! So you think I should save my money and put it towards something better.

December 2, 201014 yr Thank you again! So you think I should save my money and put it towards something better.save more money for an amp. an audioque 1200d is only $249 and it's a great (cheap) match for the SSDsave some more and i can promise it will pay off. December 2, 201014 yr Author Alright, what would you get the 1ohm voice coils and run the amp in 1ohm mode?
December 2, 201014 yr Alright, what would you get the 1ohm voice coils and run the amp in 1ohm mode?If you want a 1 ohm load get a dual 2 ohm and wire it in paralel Edited December 2, 201014 yr by Bobobass
December 2, 201014 yr If you already own that Kenwood amp I would get a copper coil with high QTS and bp power for a sealed setup.if you don't have an amp yet, go for that Audioque 1200 its a great deal then you can get the flatwind and bp power and go ported for more output.personally I love ported, ultimately its your choice, I would get the bp power either way for thermal reasons. can't over-cool it thats for sure keep those ts parameters consistent
