Posted December 22, 201014 yr Ok i was looking at the book and it is saying for a 1 or 4 ohm load hook the - neg. of the sub to the + pos. of the amp and + pos. of the sub to the - neg. of the amp?????is that right
December 22, 201014 yr It's in the manual, of course it's right! Try this out, it may be a better visual. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp
December 23, 201014 yr Yeah just use one set of speaker terminals and wire your sub accordingly so you can get either 1 ohm or a 4 ohm load. Check out subwoofer wiring diagram to help you if you dont know how to wire a sub to a certain ohm load, heres the link:http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.aspSelect quantity of subwoofers and voice coil impedence and get started.
December 23, 201014 yr I could be wrong, but if I had to guess I would say that is probably just a typo. That said; it doesn't really matter whether the subwoofer is wired in-phase or out of phase, as long as you wire it for the best sound. Ideally you would try it wired both in-phase (positive to positive, negative to negative) and out of phase (as the diagram shows) and see which sounds better anyways.
December 23, 201014 yr Manual looks like a type-o. As said above wire + to + and - to - and you should be ok.
December 23, 201014 yr Author thanks I will try that change them around and see what it dose, I have them hooked up like the manual and they seam to be fine,
