Did anyone ever compare the old Magnum vs the Rl-p ??

I doubt the D2 has been compared.

Just wondering if a pair of d2 15s w/ a 20.1 will pound on my pair of rl-p on ~1500.

Ported :-D.

I would venture to say the old MAG is similar to the RL-p

i listened to each before. The old (2nd Gen mag) has similar qualities with the Rl-p but the Mag was a tad better. Not that the RL-p wasn't good, it was great. SQ was right up there but the Mag could hit lower in the same box and power. We used my friends JL 1000/1 so power is the same. Box was a 1.5cu ft sealed. The RL-p is alot like the Ov.2 in that it can play a little higher like 100hz better than the Mag making it easy to blend in with the rest of the soundstage but on the low end the mag killed it. I think the Rl-p had most audible output around 55-60hz while the Mag was loudest at 45hz. But either are good. If you have the money i'd say get the Mags just do better acquaint yourself with different subs. The new mag outdoes it hands down, but Mike did an awesome job building a sub especially at that price.
