Whats a good amp for two 15 l7s. I was gona get a zx1500.1 but i think that wont be enough power to push these 15s. I will also probably upgrade my battery.

There is no minimum power to "push" a sub.

Additionally, power requirements are going to depend on the enclosure alignment.

The RMS rating of the sub has absolutely nothing to do with power requirements.

Buy what you can afford, if you have extra power it is just headroom...

i know but wouldnt a hifionics 2000d sound better then a kicker 1500.1? Wont they pound harder

It depends on many other factors, I wish it were that simple, unfortunately it is not.

More then likely the Kicker will be louder. The Hifonics does less then rated power and Kicker does more then rated power.

So when trying to push the Hifonics to keep up with the Kicker, you will cause the Hifonics to clip before the Kicker would so the Kicker would sound better.

Sound better and pound harder are NOT related. I would MUCH rather have a Kicker product that a Hifonics.

I would have neither kicker overpriced, Hifonics cheap china crap. AQ 2200 is the amp i would go with good quality amp for the price cant go wrong with it!

Kicker makes good, quality amplifiers, I would much rather have a Kicker than my Hifonics bxi1606d. These Brutus series amps will put out a good bit of power though, seems to be much better than most of the other brands at it's price level.

i have 1 kicker zx1500.1 on 2 12" MTX 9500's (1000rms/2000peaka piece) and it does just fine. i dont have the amp up all the way and it still pushes both subs just fine. i recommend the kicker my friend

There is a very good man that is selling a Kicker that is right up your alley...

And I'd rather have a used Kicker than a new AQ or used AQ for that matter.

Not all Hifonics are crap. The lower line is rated at max watts and basically does half what it is rated for, but the upper end is nice and does rated +.

Do some research before you buy.

I have been very pleased with all my Maxxsonics amps, but I researched before I bought and now I have some really nice amps without going crazy spending a bunch of coin on hype.

Cause AQ isn't made in China right? Oh wait they are :ughdunno:

Nice post for the better of the forum members! :fing34:

Nobody asked what VC config he has on these L7?

It's important to know before telling the OP to buy this or that.

If they are DVC2 : Get the Kicker 1500

If they are DVC4 : you can get a 1 Ohm stable amp : 1500 watts rms Sundown, Audioque,...etc

These subs are rated for 750 watts rms when used in ported box; that is writen on the little book they come with. So 1500 watts is enough !!! 1500 or 2000 you won't notice the difference.

good luck
