Posted March 7, 201114 yr I need some help here, I picked up a DC Power 250 (I'm guessing a sp model). I was told it was for a 2005 Ford Explorer V6. I want to install it on my 1996 Ford Bronco. My problem is that my factory alternator (95 amp 3G) has a 3 prongs on the regulator with another single prong plug right next to it. This new alternator has 4 prongs on the regulator and the pigtail I have with it goes from 4 into 2 prongs. Sorry if that's hard to understand, here are some pics of what I'm talking about:the 2 prong plug coming off the DC alt this end plugs into the DC altDC alt infactory alt infactory plugsWhat do I need to get this thing to work?
March 17, 201114 yr You dont need a new pigtail, the small white wire isn't used.. That's why it's not included in our adapter harness... You were sent the same plug again.. Just plug it in and everything will work PERFECT.. The ONLY function that white wire serves in the OEM alternator is to shut the battery light out because that white wire is the jumper from the stator wire into the regulator to let the regulator know the alternator is charging. On EVERY other alternator that connection is internal in the alternator, but, because the 3G regulator is "outboard" they have to run the jumper wire.
