March 17, 201114 yr What is the story with these new skar subs that are showing up? By the way edouble im looking into the sa-12s .Skar subs were co-designed or something by Jacob from sundown. They haven't been out very long so I don't know how well they perform and what not, but considering Jacob was part of designing they should be good. The owner of skar drivers, that's a different story... I've read a LOT of mixed things about him over the last few months.I'd buy the sa12s over the skars just because I would know I'm in good hands. Not sure how the sa12s stack up to the fi ssds. Oh and Fi is redesigning the ssds now, new neo motor I guess

March 17, 201114 yr What is the story with these new skar subs that are showing up? By the way edouble im looking into the sa-12s .IMO there is nothing better in that price range. The SA series really is in a league of its own. Good sound quality, excellent build quality, can get stupid loud and they are made by Sundown I have a lot of respect for Sundown products. I am weekly if not daily reading testing reports, positive reviews from consumers and product updates/improvements. I do not know of any other car audio manufacturer that is like this.
March 17, 201114 yr Author So lets get some opinions....Who would go with what... (A) 2 - sundown sa-12(B) 2 - fi SSD 12sthese will be running on a saz-1000d
March 17, 201114 yr m5, currently the w6 that i have sounds good while playing music, but it is lacking in the volume area. It is in a ported enclosure (ill get specs a little bit later on). I like that the w6 doesnt sound like it struggles to reproduce a lot of the sounds while listening to an intricate song. I can hear every beat very clearly without it sounding like the beats flow into each other. My best example of this is a set of kicker l7s that i heard. He would put a song on and it seemed like each beat would flow into the next. The L7 should have had no problems with that either, that was a box problem That being said, any of the subs that have been referenced in this thread will do what you describe so far *assuming a good enclosure*. One little comment on the Skar's, nothing against the driver, but the owner has proved himself to be rather shady in his business practices so personally I wouldn't do any business with them.

March 17, 201114 yr Author Okay, thanks for the input guys! Appreciate the time spent with me doing this.
March 18, 201114 yr I vote the SAs as well. Ive ran them with as little as 250w each and they got loud. With 1Kw, thats about more then most people would need or want in a daily driver. Asuming the box is right. Edited March 18, 201114 yr by ctmaudi
