Why does it matter if they look alike? How they look and how they perform are two non-related things.

I was more looking at the motor assembley and the cones, very close. the basket could be made into any shape they wanted.

Both great companies run by great people! As far as similar not even close when it comes to motor, cooling and baskets. Cones, spiders and surrounds may look similar but each have their own tweaks and designs.

IF your refering to the Old IA DP and the OLD Nightshade, those both have been discontinued. SO it doesnt have much relavence. Cones and so on look all the same to me now daysfor alot of builders lol. Everyone uses a med or wide roll foam surround and paper cone.

The old units are the only ones that even resemble one another (they are not identical motors even still)... the new DP and new NS v.2 are VEEEERY different even in appearance.

Says right on the box it was shipped in!

If it were up to me all aspects would be US Made. Steel for the motors, baskets and all US made soft parts. More than likely only the magnet slugs would need to be imported.

Made in the usa means exactly that... it was assembled in usa, but most companies do buy their soft parts from another country (I.e. China, Japan, etc.)

Lol I highly doubt, I could probably say for sure, that Sundown copies nobody.

I heard IA did make the v1 Nightshades.
