Posted November 28, 200519 yr hey guys i'll be ordering my 15 mag shortly and was just wondering how this sub will cmpare to my old 16ov2 and e15a.I am looking for a good sounding sub that will get loud and easily handle my crossfire vr1000d(1000 rms at 12.5 volts).Any help is appreciated.
November 28, 200519 yr It's going to blow you and them (16Ov2, 15A) out of the water...SQ and SPL wise, provided you have the proper box. It will easily handle the vr1000d, again, provided it's in the proper box. Edited November 28, 200519 yr by WeDgE
November 28, 200519 yr Author thanks for the response. have you had experience with the 16ov2 or e15a? just wanted a little reassurance been out of bass for months now
November 28, 200519 yr I've owned a pre-order 15A...which IMO, wasn't all that (sound wise)...looked nice, though.

December 1, 200519 yr Wow. You judge quickly. You just posted the 28th. This forum doesnt have 10298438443 people. People here are actually very nice in my experience here. Helpful too.
December 1, 200519 yr thanks for the response. have you had experience with the 16ov2 or e15a? just wanted a little reassurance been out of bass for months now<{POST_SNAPBACK}>i used to have two ED120.14s in a sealed box and then went to a 160v.2 ported and sealed. The ED subs are good for a budget but lack the performance that expectations tend to make you believe in. I switched from the 160v2 to a mag 12, 2nd Gen, and the Mag 12 was noticeably better on SQ and had a slight advantage in SPL. On the mic the two 120.14s sealed it 134.3 off 600rms @42hz or so, the 160v.2 sealed(1.75cu ft) off 900RMS at 47hz hit 136-38db, and the Mag 12 in 1.5cu ft sealed, 1200RMS hit 139-141db. The Mag has a much better low end, but does not have the higher extension the ED subs have so it may be a little different in blending it with the mids. But you'll love the Mag 15. I compared the Mag12 proto i used for a while against 12W7 and thought the W7 wasnt that good compared to the Mag and think its only slightly behind a 13W7. The Mag 15 should be fun. I'll be getting one sometime soon, well after New years....
December 1, 200519 yr Author Hey Sabre i wasn't judging anybody here, just was saying that nobody wanted to say hello. Thanks for all the replies and HELLO to everyone on this forum.I sent away for a 15 mag yesterday so you'll be seeing me around here more asking some questions and hopefully giving out some answers as well. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
December 3, 200519 yr By all accounts the new D2s are amazing speakers. All user reviews that I have encountered that mention your previous drivers would place the D2 above them.Oh yes, hello and welcome to the forum.
December 9, 200519 yr You will love the sub. I do. I had the 15ae before and the mag is better hands down over and over again. Especially with the low end.
December 19, 200519 yr Author just wanted to say i got my 15 mag d2 and she's beautiful.Unfortunately i have no camera so i have no pics.My only question is can i run it in my 2.2 cf vented box tuned to 30hz until my 3.7 cf box tuned to 30hz is done? Will the 2.2 box cause any harm to the sub or will i just not get the full potential out of the sub?
December 20, 200519 yr YOu can try it, but I wouldn't expect it to sound too well. If anything, just seal up the vent and run it sealed until your other enclosure is done.
