I opened my trunk this morning to find my Q15 had puked out a fairly hefty metal object and blew the dustcap off. I believe this happened listening to the sub well below tuning freq. (tuned to 30 hz. and playing "late Nite tip" by Three Six Mafia) What is this piece of metal and what purpose does it serve? You could stick your hand through the middle of the sub and this piece would have prevented that from happening. If this can be glued back in what do I use? CA glue?

The sub still works but i want to fix it before playing it again. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

a picture would be awesome of this metal piece

If it's an older Q that would be the BP power plug and i'm sure it can be glued back but wait for nick to reply.

That would make sense, do you remember what the purpose of the BP power plug was? The sub was purchased late 2009. And I am going to attempt to upload a pic I just took. natescell.jpg

Can I buy just a dustcap from Fi?

Compression plug helps with cooling. Yes you should be able to purchase a dustcap from Fi.

Thanks for the help! There is glue on the cooling plug that needs to be removed and glued back on. CA glue should do the trick right? And if you see this Nick will you give me a price on a new dustcap?? Zip Code is 49224.
