So I need to weigh out my options as far as enclosures go...

I had the idea to go sealed first and ported later... Depending on money and what not..

Carpet color choices: Black, Gray, Salt and Pepper/Charcoal

Port/Flush Mount Colors: Black, Red, Blue, White

Also when posting a thread please include this info:

Vehicle Make and Model: 2003 Toyota Camry

Direct of Box/Subs: Idea is to fire into the cabin

Sealed or Ported: ported

Number of Subs: 1 subwoofer

Brand and Model of Subs: SSA Xcon

Max Dimensions: 16.5H x 33W ; depth is not a major concern

Port Color: white port

Carpet Color: charcoal

Zip Code for Shipping Quote: 08816

Any other notes:

I would like terminals on left or right side, not backside.

Would like pricing for double baffle and single... aero ports can be done as well... if needed or saves space

What would a sealed enclosure run me at 4.25 cubes? Just curious.... with and without double baffle..

Thanks,

Danny

I want to make sure I understand this correctly, are you just going to fold your back seats down and fire the box into the car?

I have a 60/40 split so I would be putting them down almost 100% of the time while driving around and whatever.

If I find myself not doing so, I will just turn it around to face toward the trunk opening... Hence the reason for wanting the terminals on left or right sides only...

I was thinking port into cabin and subwoofer toward trunk opening but apparently I was told cancellation issues would possibly occur... :suicide-santa:

I won't be sealing off the trunk unfortunately because I find myself having to run errands for the parents alot and that sometimes requires removal of the box... :suicide-santa:

Ok so just a standard ported enclosure. I put the terminals on the side anyway so your good to go there :)

Also I'm assuming you have a 12 inch Xcon?

oh wow.... Just realized it was 22 inches deep... lolz... How muchies for me???

  • Author

Can we go deeper? If I'm gonna do it, might as well do it to optimal specs... 4 cubes @ 30hz? Shipped to 08816

I personally think 4 is a bit too large. 3.75 is just fine for the Xcon. In all my years of building boxes just a tad under the max is best.

Andrew,

Just to make sure, that is:

22 deep

16.5 tall

31.25 wide

3.75 @ 30hz

Double baffle

I would like 30hz since the amplifier I will have soon will be at a fixed SSF of 28hz. so I don't want any mechanical issues/failure cuz the box is tuned too high. And just out of curiosity, how much port area is that? I been reading hear and there and would like to be well informed of what I am purchasing.

Damn... Not that I don't think your work is worth it but I don't know if I could afford that mainly after shipping. I'm all the way out on the East Coast .... How bad is shipping? I'm about to shit myself just thinking about how costly shipping would be....... :suicide-santa:

Thanks,

Danny

Yes those dimensions are correct!

I can tune it to 30 HZ. The width will just get a tad bigger, closer to your max width of 33 inches.

I put in 100 lbs for this shipping quote and it came out to $135.
