December 14, 200519 yr Found this googling:The new VFL-400.1 amp is truly a high power SPL mono amp featuring 18 volts input. This monster can crank out 5,000 watts at 1 ohm. Link two VFL-400.1
December 14, 200519 yr i had 2 vfl 150.1s.... a 75.1 and played with quite a few AB amps... great power... have a tendancy to blow up for no reason... at least the original vfls were like that

December 15, 200519 yr Author KICKIN, why did you change to Hifonics? Ive looked at the XX zeus and hercules, would you suggest either?
December 22, 200519 yr Are these the models that have the heatsink very similar to that of Brax?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>The 150.1's do, (look like brax), but the 400.1 is in the plain-jane, silver "SQ" series, low finned, heatsink.
December 23, 200519 yr KICKIN, why did you change to Hifonics? Ive looked at the XX zeus and hercules, would you suggest either? If you have the money, the XX's are decent amps.I switched because I wanted a bigger amp. I only had the 200.1 for about two weeks, I didn't like it at all, and it was stupid expensive at the time.
December 23, 200519 yr Author I've seen 2 150's for $750, and the XX Colosus for the same. What's more power without a 16 volt system, either way I'll run 2 15's.
January 17, 200619 yr VFL 150.1s are great amps. Make lots of power. Our team at one point had around 20ish, maybe more. On 18v, they couldnt go below .7, and some cases .35 or they would fry. They are also very sensitive to the rca voltage as well at that high voltage. On 12v, they could go to .25, but had to be rolled.
