battery to fuse holder question

I am running power from rear battery to amp. My question is will I be ok with 24in from battery to the fuse holder (300A fuse)then from there 56in to amp? Or do I run 12in from rear battery to fuse holder then a run to amp?

    The recommended length of 12-18" from battery to fuse holder is to keep the unfused length of wire as short as possible. You will be ok with any length, just keep the fuse as close to the battery as you can.

    The closer to the battery the better. If a short happens before the fuse you will be buying a new car.

    General rule is the jumper should be the exact length of the battery ...

    Competition judging is 18 inches ... from the battery post to the output end of the fuse block ...
