I am going to be ordering a 10" FI Q in the next couple of days. It will be going in a sealed box with .57 cu. ft. or airspace after displacement. I will probably be running it with an older Memphis 1000d I have laying around. I know I need to add the high QTS option to it, but should I add the cooling option as well? This may actually be a stupid question but does the cooling option add any length to the mounting depth? My box is only 7" deep so I dont have any room to play with being that the mounting depth for the Q is already 6.5". Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if the cooling option adds a pole vent. If it does than I would say that you do not have adequate mounting depth for a driver with a pole vent.

I believe the new Q's are all solid pole.

I Just got a new Q and i ordered the cool option but it dosnt add any extra length. I think the cooling is designed inside of the motor which forces air around the voice coil.

Exactly.
