Posted December 20, 200519 yr were there ever production d4 magnums made? if not, is it possible to special order some? i dont understand why they're all d2, thats great for one but what about pairs? i dont want to run my crossfire as .5 ohm daily, or at 4 ohms. are there other wiring configurations im not aware of to get 1 or 2 ohms out of 2 d2 drivers?

Here is a link on how to wire them...http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiri...x=10&image.y=15
December 20, 200519 yr agreed, a pair of D2'd can get 8, 2, or .5 ohms. (I'll be wiring for .5 myself)
December 20, 200519 yr Author i look pretty stupid now, i thought it was either .5 or 4 lolno hope for d4 mags then? im having a hard time deciding between the old xxx 15's and a pair of mag 15's for my ta. what im thinking is the mags will sound a bit better, but the xxx's will get louder, if i give them ~1500 watts apiece. im not planning on buying another amp though, so i was thinking the mags would be louder off ~1000 watts apiece. does this sound about right? im planning on building a ~5 ft^3 sealed box. theres no room for ported 15's in my car or even 12's, probably not even a single 15. how do you all think they'll compare to a pair of rl-p 15's?how much do the mags sell for anyway? December 20, 200519 yr I personnaly like the sound of the mags better than the XXX's, and you don't have to worry about them getting loud, they will do that. I don't beleive there were ever any D4's I'm pretty sure they were all D2's, hence the name, D2. Call or e-mail nick a SI for a price on the 15's.
December 20, 200519 yr The Mags and Magnums are and were ONLY available in a dual 2 ohm configuration. The new MIDLINE drivers coming out will all be dual 4 ohm, but they are only available in 10 and 12 inch versions. As for sound and loudness, I picked the Magnum over my Brahma, and XXX, and W7 as well, but you may prefer either of those. Plenty of people have been more than pleased with their Mags, in fact, I have yet to hear one complaint. Anyways, you'll be surprised at just what you'll get in the way of loudness. My buddy has a 4th Gen F-body and we have a 15" Magnum in 2.3 cubes sealed running off a MMATS D200HC and it can get unbearable with the volume up. Hatchbacks are a blessing in disguise when it comes to LFE.
December 20, 200519 yr Author oh i know 2 15's are gonna be stupid loud in my car. my 12's get plenty loud, and i love the sound quality, but i'm used to the sound level and want more. thought hard about some rl-p 15's, but i think mags will sound as nice and get louder.
December 25, 200519 yr to some people 1 mag in a good box with good clean power is enough. 2 will certainly get you heard. while the XXX is certainly a good driver, it is not efficient.
December 26, 200519 yr And many will argue the MAG is not based purely on sensitivity measurements, BUT, how do they really correlate to TRUE efficiency. Now THAT is a question.
December 26, 200519 yr Author my crossfire amp breathed new life into my rl-ps, so im gonna roll with those for a while longer. man are they loud
December 28, 200519 yr Admin just look at my vid I shot of the prototype on only 400 watts, if you want to see eff
