I was wondering if a single Nightshade 18 would be at home in my trunk as my daily driver. I would really like to get loud n' low. I'm putting it on roughly 3kw. Any suggestions?? Anyone have experience with the subs in their trunks?

its a HUGE box. you will never be able to hide it from window shoppers and its all in your face...

steve mead here, had one in this 4 door chevy for a few on a saz 3000d he loved it. but like i said its a huge box.

I have plenty of room, and my back seat wont be coming down... how many cubes are you talking?

6-10 cubes interna, before displacement ...

Nightshades don't need that large an enclosure, 7 cubes or so it the most they need

II had mine on an saz3k in 7 cubes and 110 sq inches of port. It was stupid loud.

Thanks guys, I'll try to make that fit in my trunk... one last question... which way should the sub/port be placed for the most amount of sound? I don't think I want the sub facing up, because I don't wanna lose all that air out of the trunk lid... I may be wrong. Thanks

this whole time i was reading TRUCK... like a fucking moron.

What kind of car do you have that can fit a 7 cubic foot box in the trunk? You measured the opening right?

If you're not sealing it off the trunk with subs/port facing forward then do sub/port back. Without having some sort of "window" to your trunk it's not going to be as loud as it can be. No way to fold down your seats, or is that a personal preference?

Could always build the box IN the trunk to make the most out of the room you have.

I have a 1991 Chevy Caprice Classic... I'll get dimensions later tonight, I'm at work. I know I could make it work. My trunk is like a third of my car... lol

And I don't wanna tear up my rear deck, but if I have to I'll make a window between my rear speakers.

sub back port back would be the best.. and you wont need to cut the back deck.
