ok. as most of u know i have my 1 12" orion hcca in a nice custom ported box. and i love it. BUT my 1 12 doesnt sound like the good ol way 15's sound. and we all know how 15's sound. low and powerful. latley, i have been eyeballing the sundown audio SA 15's. i would do 2 on 1800 watts and possibly build a wall in my ranger for them. i havent completly decided. what do u all think???? should i stick with my 1 12, or go for the 2 15's???? i have a feeling that my 1 12 will be louder but it dont have the hard hitting that 2 15's would. WHAT TO DOOO :rofl2:

I'm pretty positive that 2 SA-15s on the same power and in the proper enclosure will be louder than a single 12" hcca.

+1 unless you royally eff something up.

So you say you want 2-15"s cause your 12" isnt louder than them but now you say it is louder than 2-15"s. Honestly you need to rebuild that box and give yourself some more port area before buying more equipment. If the HCCA doesnt cut it after the new box, then upgrade your equipment.

What are you trying to achieve? A properly setup 12 vs 15 sq will not be any different, 15's don't have a "more powerful" sound.

no i think my 1 12 is louder, but it doesnt have the deep low pounding that 2 15's do.

Educate yourself before upgrading. A lot of your thinking is skewed.

The size of the sub has nothing to do with the sound, the box does.

x2, some great advice

Well I guess you know more than I do. Looking at your avatar that Hcca is begging for more port area.

So you ask for advice and when it is provided you argue with it. Well good luck in trying to find out what your gonna do.

Well I'm telling you (coming from someone who has done 30+ installs this year) that you are wrong. If you want some help ask a more clear question, then accept the advice that you are given.

So do you think your the only one with install experience, instead of listening with your ears you rather listen with your mouth. Its cool though, you already know more than me apparently. Just cause you have experience doesnt mean its a good experience or that you learned what you were supposed to.

So you're saying your single 12 is louder than two 15's on the same power? Either your HCCA defies the laws of physics or something was off on the install. I'm not entirely sure what you're goals are. If you want more output or better low end extension first try to build a new box. If that doesn't work try new equipment.

3x the cone area, less to pressurize, it's a no brainer.

i just paid $175 for this one :/ it sounds good and loud. but i know 2 15's will have a better low end and the initial hit of a beat will be harder. thats what im looking for.
