Join me and my crusades to stop using walmart for anything. Anything you can get at walamart you can get elsewhere, usually for a dollar more and a hell of alot less hassle and retardation.

Ive been hating walmart for a while now but today was the straw that broke the camles back. Today i went in to get a Multi Meter and some black satin paint and some masking tape. The only multi meter they had that was digital was $17...17 freaking dollars...only thing i use a MM for is measuing AC voltage and occasionally DC voltage...i paid $5 for my last one, which used internal batteries and could not be reserected once it started giving bad readings...none the less it served me for over a good solid 3 years. my track record on test equpitment isnt that great so i am hesitant to spned $17.

So i decided to look elsewhere but ill grab my paint and masking tape. The only masking tape they had was the cheap chit for $0.45 a roll or the expensive chit for $3 for the same sized roll. its blue and it has a difference adheasive, whoopty flip. im not paying $3 for the chit so get the cheap chit knowing i would regret it.

Paint was the SAME WAY...cheap assed $1 paint and primer or $5 paint and primer...i just need satin black...nothing specail...but its for a little project and i figured it if screws up i can always go back and fix it with sand paper and stripper.

I go to check out and im required to give ID...im like WTF? ok. so the dumbass lady sits there and enters the DOB off of my license 6 freaking times before she gets it right only to tell me the computer wont allow me to purchase the item because im not 18... i was pissed to say the least.

so im like "fudge you lady" and i go to lowes, which i hate, but not enough to spend the money ACE charges on stuff.

Go to lowes, have to spend a few pennies more on masking tape fro ma brand i trust (Duck) and a lil more for some better paint ($3 a can, Krylon). No problems, nothing. i even checked out the multi meters...they have a nice clamp meter there for $59 with a 3 year warranty...looks like that wil be my next puchase when i get the money, measuring impeadance and efficancy will never be easier.

Lowes has the Live Oak Walmart beat pretty well, my local walamrt doesnt even sell that stuff, they suck balls. But i still hate the live oak walmart and the gainsville walmart...besides, 1gal of reisn is $33 at lowes (i think) and that is pretty damn cheap.

EVERY place is supposed to check ID to buy spray paint AFAIK ever since huffing started.

Are you serious???!!! If you hate it so much, simply don't go. The problem with America today. Everyone wants the freedom of choice, but even when given it, they complain because they don't like something instead of simply turning the other way. It really isn't a big deal and should NOT be made into one. Put the effort into a project and you'll be much morse satisfied IMO.

Welcom to evolution my friend. All the mom and pop places started complaining when fast food restaraunts popped up. They were stealing business. Fact of the matter is, most of society is preferential to convenience and Wal-Mart is so convenient to many, as well as the fast food restaurant.

Walmart, lowes, home depot and osh ect wont allow you to buy aresol paint if you are under 18.

Dont complain about something walmart has no control over, its the law.

I only needed spray paint from walmart one time because home centers dont carry automotive stuff.

I will join you in loathing Walmart, but for completely different reasons. I just can't stand to go into a store that makes me feel like I am in West Virginia or bum-F-nowhere in Missouri (perhaps other Southern sourspot locations as well). That and the average IQ of their hiree's make the whole experience downright painful. Luckily there is not one near to me so I don't have to go. Target is so much more palatable, and I am addicted to HD and soon Lowe's--one is opening in a couple of weeks near me--but mostly for home projects.

I like the art store for F'glass. Cheaper than Walmart and wax free too.

Target is even worse.

I always pay in the automotive or garden section. Usually the lines are short.

i don't really see the problem? It's not like they trick you into going there. In all honesty its people like you that keep them in business. Why do you care if she enters yoru DOB wrong 18 times? Are you in that much of a hurry? thats why you came to wal-mart instead of going to someone else. You saved a couple bucks and a few seconds. If you're not ok with the service, go somewhere else where you pay for good service.

Personally i don't have a huge problem with wal-mart. Sure they can be hell to deal with, but its worth it to me most of the time.

-Didnt let fat/old people who stand in the middle of the lane's stareing into nothingness

-There where less ugly, white trash, ho bags in there all the time

To tell you the truth walmart can take LONGER because you have to walk further and wait in longer lines and wait for idiotic employee's

On top of the fact that Walmart has no competition for that type of business here since K-Mart went out of business, the closest thing to that is Walgreens and CVS which both charge outragous prices and arent open 24/7

Pops was reading the paper today, i find out that they are opening up another baller mart on the other side of town. A super center !

Ah, but the majority of their business is stupid America whom would never think of this. THey are the same people that drive around all day looking for the best gas prices, only to save $.50, yet waste 2 gallons of gas doing so.

my pet peeve is the people that will wait 10-15min for a parking space thats no more than 20ft closer to the building. How lazy are we?
