What are you driving? Maybe I missed it.

I know i have a huge trunk but room in the trunk is needed thats why im trying not to build over my current box

There's a few things I would change in your enclosure for sure.

What are some specs on it? How much port? What tuning?

I wanna try learning from designs myself and building myself

More experience is always good ? :D

:drink40:

But don't get discouraged when the first attemp fails. Hands on learning is the best way to learn and succeed. SPL #'s take testing and building to reach your goals.

Yeah SPL #'s are hard to gain after some point

My manager is at 149.6 in his tahoe and were having a little battle to see who hits 150 first

Tuning higher is my best bet on the same power

Mayhems are very nice subs...I would get the DD's over them

Any particular reasons you would choose the DD's over the Mayhems?

Id keep the mayhams... More power/new box and some trial and error u should get to 150..

98.1145% of the installs ive seen a DD is a comp car or a burper... Lol. The 3 i have heard that were just daily setups dont really sound that good imo.. Atleast to my liking!

Ya they get loud but.....

I had some DD 3515's and at 1 ohm they would get stinky

Lacked low end extension too

Mayhems it is and ill keep testing and testing

Thanks for the help

Try giving your Mayhems 7.0ft^3 net and roughly 120in^2 of port. Up the tuning to around 38-40hz. Should be a step in the right direction.

Your DD enclosure must have been off, or you didn't let them break in.

I have heard tons of DD setups. As long as the box is right, enough port mainly, they sounded fantastic.

Give DD a chance again, especially 9500G or H series. I bet they shut down the AA's.

My 9518Z sounded amazing, dropped low, and did a 152.3@44Hz with 3k. And by low, j mean White Girl slowed. And played sunstroke perfectly as well as double bass from rock.

I have teammates that run them and they can take a beating....Get loud on music and are just an overall great daily sub. Don't have experience with dd, so I'm just going by what I have exp. with

2 18's walled in a malibu on a dc9k, had 2 9k's strapped for a couple burps

4 15's walled in an s10 on a dc9k in way too small of a box

And soon we're doing 4 18's walled in a silverado on 2 9k's

Another teammate is doing 4 18's on around 20k

So you recommended one sub over another without ever using the other. That sucks man.

Since were playing the "friend card" lol

My friend has 4 9515F's on 20k and does 161's burp. And 160.x music and can play it all day.

Ive heard numerous setups with DD subs and amps

Many competitors here in texas use DD. I have experience with the 9518's that a friend had but low end extension was like "thats it?"

His Crossfire xsv2's are alot more musical and by far the best daily/spl sub ive heard

Ive heard tuning low for a 9500 will not be good...?
