I'm liking the FI SSD 15" im probably gunna go with that one...

I'd recommend the SSA ICON personally. Just me though.

He only has a 200 dollar budget so the dcon would be my choice. :eek5wavey:

he also has 1200 watts, so i would get the sub rated to handle that. SSD is the best bang for the buck. 225 bucks for a handbuilt american 15" sub that handles 1000w rms? Great buy imo

Oh damn idk why i was thinking the opposite lol.

As far as DCON vs. SSD goes, the rms difference is really swaying me towards the SSD. Any reason i shouldnt have my mind changed on that factor?

OP step up your budget and get a SSA Icon. Or try to find a used one in your price range.

why dont you recommend the SSD? Its perfect for his budget and goals.

Ssd would be fine also. Dont know the price off the top of my head.

Yea i would like I know the advantage of going for an icon over the ssd. Then again if I raise my budget and to that of the icon, would an fi q fall in that price range and would that be a better choice than the icon?

Spend the extra and get the SSD especially with your amplifier power!

i am definitely building the box

As far as pricing goes, from the FI website:

FI SSD 15": $224

FI Q 15": $304

For the SSA DCON and ICON idk pricing, maybe someone on here does?

If you are truly looking for a SQ sub the Icon would be a better pick over the SSD. Fi's SQ woofer is the Q.

I'm aware that SQ would improve with the ICON over the SSD, but the dilemma is whether or not it is THAT much of a difference to spend the extra money for that quality. Like would the difference in sound quality of the subs be so noticeable that spending the extra money is a must?

And any idea on what a ICON 15" runs for price wise?

Ok well thats very close to the price of a FI Q, would the ICON still outweigh the Q in terms of quality?
