hello all! i just ordered my 18" FI BL driver and am working on designing a box for this beast. i figured id go big as i am leaving for basic training(US Army) in about 6 months. Im looking to take the backseat out of my jeep wrangler and replace it with a fairly large box for this woofer. iv built some smaller sealed boxes and they have all come out fine but this will be my first time building a vented box any advice that you can share would be amazing and i thank you in advance.

As far as the sub goes these are the specs that FI gives for it, i measured out my jeep and got some measurements that would work, i came up with a width of 32" a height of 16"(was planning on having the speaker face upwords but will it fit in 16"?) and a length of 35". with a port(this is where i get confused) of 10"X10"X19.25"deep all made of 3/4MDF. after punching in the numbers on a few calculators i found online that should give me a volume of just over 8cubic feel and be tuned to 35hz. So if anyone would take the time to look over my design and let me know if it would work or not i would greatly appreciate it, thank you. :thanx:

Check this Fi link for a cut sheet for the BL Series. May or may not work for your vehicle but it will give you an idea.

Those are optimum enclosure sizes. You can go bigger just need to account for port tuning etc.

Welcome .... :drink40:

18" fi bl, 7.6cube enclosure tuned to 33hz. Port up.

I did 34" width, 27" depth, and 18" height.

Sorry I don't have any cutouts or info on vent, just thought I'd share. :P
