April 8, 201312 yr love your system... SUV was my first choice but then gas prices were starting to go up when I was shopping for my car..... smh .. fcking oil!
April 13, 201312 yr Author On Thursday and Friday, my days off of work, I did some trial with Plastic Dip, I'm really digging the look. So the plans for this weekend if theres enough time, is to continue with it on the rest of the truck. So that it blends in more. Currently, the things like my side panels, roof rack, and other little mint pieces are black, but they are more of a charcoal black vs the plastic dip's flat black. Heres some pictures of what I've done so far. The rims, door handles, and gas tank cover. Please, let me know what you guys think! In no paticular order lol. P.S. Evil is still breaking shit.
April 13, 201312 yr Author I can't watch the videos. That stabilization crap youtube does irritates the shit out of me.. Oh I know, its just one of the judges recording my two rounds of what MECA calls "Dueling Demos", a class where the crowd picks the winner based on I guess the "wow" factor. So its not all about how many subs or highs you have, but the overall look of the vehicle, the clearity, etc, basically w/e the crowd likes. I like this the most because theres really no bias, just vote for w/e vehicle you liked the most lol. love your system... SUV was my first choice but then gas prices were starting to go up when I was shopping for my car..... smh .. fcking oil! Thanks Shogen!! I'll be honest, the biggest reason why I got an SUV is actually safety man. Not so say I or anybody else is a bad driver or anything like that, just as in just in case thing for me really. I'm a family oriented person, so its kind of a big deal to me. Looks good. Thank you! Looks good mane. Thanks! I'm really digging the new "attitude" it gives it. Nice work. Thanks Aaron! Not too bad for my first try hehe.
April 13, 201312 yr Author Looks to be a busy day here at work :/ But I was able to finish the grille. I'm here till 11, so I'm gonna see how much I can get done. I'm definately learning how to work with this stuff. It looks like the best way for me to apply this stuff, is to be about 7-8 inches away, and apply many light cloats vs a few heavy coats. I'm really picky when I do things, and pay a great deal of attention to the smallest of details, so using the previous method, of swaying back and forth, I can see "heavy" spots from the overlapping, which I don't like. But yeah, this is some great stuff lol.
April 13, 201312 yr Author The biggest lesson learned here, 30 minutes prep work, 5 minutes painting lolThe hood lip panel: It was painted orignally gloss black to match the aftermarket grille, which paint begain to fade horibally. Time to go move some computer servers!
April 14, 201312 yr Author So the last thing I was able to finish up today was the front bumper thing. For some reason, looks as though the front bumper is darker than the Grille and Grille Lip, I'm assuming this is becasue the finish on the Grille/Lip is a glossy finish, so I'll have to come back with a layer or two more, easy fix. sorry for the dark pics, will share more soon.
April 14, 201312 yr Liking it ALOT! I am about to start doing a few things inside & outside my truck as well.
April 14, 201312 yr How does this hold up to washing. I always hand wash my 4runner and scrub the rims and tires. Would it peel off?
April 15, 201312 yr Author Pictures from today's MECA Show. I'm actually driving here to give you an idea of my tint.
April 15, 201312 yr Nice pics, your tint is dark! Is your windshield tinted? I'm thinking about doing mine but I don't want to go too dark.
April 17, 201312 yr Author Liking it ALOT! I am about to start doing a few things inside & outside my truck as well. Thanks Chuck! You should man, I've had great results so far. Wow!A lot of work and it is shaping up nicely!I like it man! About 3-5 hours in total, just a lot of prep work man lol. Thanks Chop! How does this hold up to washing. I always hand wash my 4runner and scrub the rims and tires. Would it peel off? Plastic Dip will NOT come off unless you intentionally take it off. By that I mean, cut a slit, AND begin pulling away aggressively. It will NOT come off with no type of brush or brissles unless you try to. Nice pics, your tint is dark! Is your windshield tinted? I'm thinking about doing mine but I don't want to go too dark. Thanks! Yeah, haha, they look really dark in the picture. No, windshield is stock except the top strip. I would advise to go around 25% for daily purposes. Mine is less than that. Looks like you guys had a good time.....I'm jealous! Haha, you need to come down then! nice stuff Sen! nice! the explorer looks mean! Haha thanks bro! I'm really diggin the new attitude it has now. I'm always turning heads on every drive. Looks great. Who's car is the one with the inverted Zcon's? Thank you sir That car is Keith Pride's ride. He drives a Scion TC. He is actually the loudest in the state with that setup, and is only one or two behind world record currently. I'm really proud of him. Car looks really nice!! Tint that windshield Thanks!! Haha NO! Well, maybe, if I was it would only be 65% or something lol. Be-a-u-ti-ful!Awesome pics man! Thanks Chop! This camera man was dope.
