There's a chance I may need a recone or something (hope not :(), my sub amp has been cutting out the last two days and the protection light was on. Gonna take a DMM to the coils sometime soon.

but my question is........would there be any gain by reconing my older model D2 with the new Mag's soft parts? Or do you think I should just get a new Mag?

if you have a claw basket it would be interesting if you could get it converted to a new mag (motor and softs) that would be sexy

That won't happen, but you can get the new soft parts and there is a distinct advantage with them. You'll have to ask Nick to be sure, but the only one I remember offhand is a lower Fs.

Mating a claw basket up with a new motor isn't an option. Ryan has the only one in existance because his was done during production. A new re-cone, however, is an option. The benefits are a lower Fs along with stronger/better components overall.
