Posted February 7, 201213 yr Just received my IB318s (thanks!) but have a small question. There appears to be 8 mounting holes around the outside of the drivers but the holes only go through the rubber gasket, not the steel frame. Is the idea to drill through the steel at those 8 positions? I'm mounting them to the outside of a manifold that I have built with the cones firing into the interior of the manifold. My plan was to use t-nuts on the inside of the manifold with bolts holding the driver to the box. Does this sound like a reasonable approach?

February 7, 201213 yr DO NOT DRILL HOLES IN THE BASKET YOURSELF!The gasket should be removable. It's probably just not centered on the holes in the frame. Pry it off, or spin it to align the holes.

Looking from the back the holes are clearly visible. Unfortunately, they are slightly smaller than the bolts I bought. Back to the HW store.
February 7, 201213 yr If needed just take a sharp tool and cut out the parts of the surround that cover the holes up. Be careful!
February 7, 201213 yr I believe they overlay the surround material over the holes so they can tell if you have mounted the woofer.
